Cauliflower Wings (Vegan)

Can you say Mmmmmm?! These are my FAVOURITE! After many different attempts and modifications, this is the best version of Cauliflower Wings I’ve ever tasted. There are two steps, first make the wings, then sauce the wings. Please let me know if you like them!

Wings Ingredients/Supplies:

  • One large head of Cauliflower
  • 3/4 cup of flour
  • 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • PARCHMENT PAPER (anything else and your wings will stick, burn and die)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Any cooler and your wings won’t crisp. They’ll be soggy and no one likes soggy wings.
  2. Cut cauliflower into small heads (see image below) and wash them. img_7040-copy
  3. Mix all ingredients (except the cauliflower and parchment paper) in a bowl until smooth with no chunks. It should be soupy.
  4. Now dip the cauliflower pieces into the flour/spice liquid, shake them a bit so there isn’t too much excess, and place on parchment paper sheet on a large pan. Make sure there is space between each wing so they don’t form to each other.
  5. Cook in centre of oven for 25 minutes.
  6. Take out to coat each piece in your favourite sauce (easy sauces below). Then place back on parchment paper flipped so that other side is cooking.
  7. Turn down oven to 425. Cook in oven for another 15-20 minutes (until desired crunchiness).

Hot BBQ Wings:

  • 1-2 tbsp of your favourite hot sauce
  • 1/3 cup of your favourite BBQ sauce (I used Honey Garlic BBQ)
  • 2 tbsp vegan butter

Instructions:

  1. Mix hot sauce and bbq sauce in small pot on medium low heat for about 3 minutes (until warm).
  2. Heat vegan butter in microwave for 10 seconds.
  3. Mix butter and sauce together until smooth.
  4. Dip your wings in then cook the flavours in!

Salt and Vinegar Wings:

  • 2 tbsp vegan butter
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar/cider vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Heat vegan butter in microwave for 10 seconds.
  2. Mix butter and vinegar together (will likely not mix well, that’s ok).
  3. Dip your wings in, sprinkle with sea salt, then cook the flavours in! img_7043-copy
