Today is a special day.

There is no birthday cake, it’s not a holiday, there’s no event to attend.

But today is still a special day,

Because we decide it to be so.

You woke up and reached to be in my arms, we danced in the kitchen, we laughed big belly laughs.

Today is a special day,

You threw a tantrum that tested my patience, I yelled, then apologized and held you.

But today is still a special day,

Because we decide it to be so.

Today is a special day.

We drew a picture together, we went for a walk in the sunshine together, we swung on the swings together.

Today is a special day,

Because we decide it to be so.

Every day is a special day.

Because you add more magic, more joy, more love to my life than I could have ever imagined possible.

You are the special in my day.
